Ordering and Payment questions

Discount Car Stereo.com is a family owned internet retailer serving the internet community since 1995. With more than 15 years dedicated to providing quality customer service and brand name products with proven reliability. How do i place an order with your company?
You may order online at any hour of the day or night using our secure cart checkout process. This area of our website utilize the highest level of encryption available today. This means you can rest assured that communications (e.g. credit card numbers) between your browser and this site's web servers are private and secure when the 128-bit SSL session is activated.
Can i place my order over the phone?
 For security reason we no longer accept credit card orders by phone. We are now required to verify the CVV2/CVC2 numbers on the back (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) or on the front (AMEX) of the card and prefer you make this entry online instead of providing this information to an operator. Your credit card number and CVV2 numbers are encrypted so that only the last 4 digits and the expiration dates are visible to our customer service staff. Your cooperation and understanding of this policy is appreciated.

What payment methods do you accept?
Credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover (USA/Canada only) and PayPal (USA/Canada and select international destinations only).
Debit Cards: With Visa or MasterCard logo on the front.

I'm an international Customer and would like to use my Credit Card?
Sorry, international customers (except Canada) must use Paypal. All orders using an international credit card will be deleted.

Your website has an "availability" listing, is it reliable and up to date?
Every item on our site has an "availability" listing. This listing is updated during office hours (M-F 11:30AM-6:30PM). It is possible that an item you ordered has "SOLD OUT" during non-office hours and if so you will be notified by email upon discovery and given an approximate ship date or the option to cancel. Items that are "NOT IN STOCK" will automatically backorder and ship when available. If in doubt, send us an email with the part number and quantities.

Shipping questions

Discount Car Stereo.com can virtually ship to any address in the world using both UPS (United Parcel Service)  and USPS (United States Postal Service) carriers.
 

How much does it cost to ship?
Our shipping rates are based on weight, destination, delivery method. Our website is setup to handle your shipping rates requests based on the options of your choosing.  To estimate shipping: add the items to your cart, click checkout or click the "estimate shipping" button on the right side of the page. You will then be able to select between the two carriers and their shipping methods/rates. For delivery speed see below.

Shipping quote is calculated in real time based on your destination and delivery method and unavailable by phone or email.

 

How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Delivery time is based on the shipping method selected at checkout. USA customers can expect standard delivery within 7 working days. International customers can expect delivery within 30 days (express services are also available)

 

When will my order ship?

Most orders for "in stock" merchandise ship the same day if the order is received before 3:00PM ET on weekdays. Orders for "in stock" items placed Saturday, Sunday or after 3:00PM on Friday will ship the following Monday (except holidays).

 

I paid extra for fast delivery, but you did not ship my order the same day-- why?
The Shipping method is the amount of time required for your shipment to arrive after we ship (transit time) and does not include processing your order and verifying your payment information. The credit card issuing bank must validate your name/address information prior to shipping. If they are delays you will be notified by email and your order will ship upon bank approval. Delivery time will begin after the order has shipped and does not include weekends or holidays. They are no refunds for delays due to credit card verification.

 

I'm an international customer but my country is not listed in the pull-down menu-- why?

We do ship to select international destinations and at this time we will only ship to the countries listed. Please do not order if the international destination country is not listed, or selecting a listed country then request we ship to another. All international orders where the ship to address is to an unlisted country will be voided and refunded. Your cooperation and understanding of this policy is appreciated.

International orders require additional paperwork and extra time to process. If you are concerned about delays please use our UPS Worldwide Services or USPS Global Express Mail Service-- these services are more reliable and offer detail tracking information.

If you live in Canada please note that as of 7/20/10 UPS Brokerage for shipment To Canada  has changed:

All shipments valued at $200 or less will incur a brokerage flat rate of $10.
Ship is only applicable to UPS Standard to Canada. UPS Global Express shipping charges includes the Brokerage Fee. Please note that customers are still responsible for Tax and Duty.

Discountcarstereo.com offers genuine brand name merchandise at substantial discounts to the manufacturer's suggested retail price. Because of our discounted pricing, we are not "Authorized Dealers" as defined by certain manufacturers [We are authorized dealers for Blitzsafe, Best Kits and Harnesses,  Precision Interface Electronics (PIE), Stinger, Peripherals, USASpec, Soundgate etc]. RMA NUMBERS ARE ISSUED FOR PRODUCTS THAT ARE DEFECTIVE AN IN NEED OF REPAIR OR EXCHANGE (same part number) NO REFUNDS .
YOU MUST FIRST OBTAIN AN RMA NUMBER PRIOR TO RETURNING ANY PRODUCT. RETURNS WITHOUT AN RMA WILL BE REFUSED. RMA Numbers are issued for products that are defective and in need of repair or replacement (the same part). As an industry standard shipping and handling fees are are non-refundable (no exceptions).

List of Product Availability Terms

Here are the various product availabilities you may come across, and what they mean, please read these terms which may help to determine your shipping method

In stock

Orders placed before 3:00PM (ET) usually ships same business day. Your credit card company must first approve and verify your name/address information which may cause some delays beyond our control. Orders approved after 3:00PM (Monday-Friday) are processed on the following work date. This is a good faith estimate, not a guarantee!!!

In transit

This product is not currently in stock but in transit to our warehouse. We expect new stock to arrive our warehouse within 4 to 7 days after which we will begin shipping.

special order

This is a non-stock item that will be ordered for your from the manufacturer. We expect the item to arrive our warehouse within 7-10 days. (If the item is on backorder, then we will provide an estimate delivery date). Special order items must be prepaid in full and cannot be canceled. If for some reason you must cancel, a 15% processing fee will be charged.

discontinued

This part is no longer available to us from the manufacturer and is displayed for information and/or reference purposes and will be removed from our site.

Note: Availability displayed on our product pages may change after you have completed the checkout process, as it is during this time that our system obtains updated inventory levels for the product(s) you have selected. Availability displayed on our web site is only an estimate, and is subject to change without notice.

International Customs/Duty Information

All items entering a foreign country are subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. International shipments may often include additional charges such as import fees, taxes or brokerage fees assessed by customs or UPS. These are billed at the time the package is delivered, and not by us. It is the responsibility of the customer to pay any secondary fees associated with importing goods from the U.S. to their country. We have no control over these charges and cannot predict what will be charged by your local government, customs, or UPS brokerage fees. Import fees, customs fees, and UPS brokerage fees vary from country to country, and also vary depending on the merchandise being imported. For information on customs, import, and UPS brokerage fees, please contact your local customs service or UPS in your area. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. Check the Worlds Customs Organization Web site for general information, or visit the web site of that country’s customs service. Additionally, when ordering from us, you are considered the importer of the goods and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods. It is important to understand that, if duty/tax fees or brokerage fees are assessed, such fees are collected from the recipient. Our shipping charges cover the cost of delivery only. Please also note that it is illegal for Discount Car Stereo.com to reduce the "declared value" of an item in order to minimize duty or tax fees. The price you pay will appear as the items value.

As an industry standard: Shipping and handling fees are not-refundable. (no exceptions)

When will you order arrive?

 

Whenever an order has been dispatched you'll receive an email with UPS tracking, USPS delivery or signature confirmation details. You may also login to your account, click order history to get specific information, such as the parcel tracking information. Most US deliveries take from 2-7 working days after we ship. For security purposes an adult signature is required upon delivery.

 

Tracking Information

For your peace of mind, you can check the status of your order by logging into your account; simply Sign-in to log into the system using your email address and password. Click "View Order status" then the Track button. UPS Tracking and USPS (express mal only) details displayed in our tracking page are updated by the carriers not by us and because of that the information you see is the same information available to our representatives.
USPS Priority Mail Shipments: All Priority Mail shipments include a "Delivery confirmation" or "Signature confirmation" numbers, these are not tracking number. The email notification you receive is proof of the actual mailing date for your package and not that the post office has been notified by the shipping partner as displayed on the USPS website. Please allow 2-7 days for your shipment to arrive.

Payment and Refund Information

It's easy to make a purchase at our web store. For your convenience we accept: PayPal, VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards issued in the United States and Canada. International customers are welcome to use PayPal. Refunds are subject to our return policy statement and can only be issued to the credit card or payment method used during the original purchase. Paypal refunds are subject to the amount we receive minus all Paypal transactions fees. All advertised prices are in US dollars.

 

How a buyer can confirm an address.

It is our policy to ship only to the "confirm address" To confirm your PayPal address:

  • Add a credit card to your PayPal account. PayPal will confirm the credit card billing address (the address where you receive your credit card statement).
  • Apply for PayPal Buyer Credit. If they're approved, the address on your application will be a confirmed address.
  • Alternate address confirmation. This process takes several days and is only available for U.S. accounts. To learn more, log in to your PayPal account and visit Alternate Address Confirmation.
