Soundgate Speed Pulse Generator for CAN BUS Vehicles

CAN is an acronym for Controller Area Network and is becoming increasingly common on passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
Many new vehicles around today utilize CAN BUS to transmit specific data and conditions between devices. This has rendered traditional signal carrying wires obsolete. The down side is that many aftermarket devices (such as Navigation systems) cannot interface with the CAN BUS data because a signal is required by the navigation unit which is directly proportional to the speed of the car to enable correct calculation and calibration. It uses this data to determine speed and distance to help calibrate it to the GPS signal from the satellites and to ensure accuracy. Traditional methods include unreliable magnetization of tires and messy magnets under the vehicle.
Soundgate CANPULSE 2 interface will convert the digital vehicles speed signal on the CAN BUS equipped vehicle to an analog vehicle speed pulse signal and can be used as a speed sensing device when installing an aftermarket Navigation system which require an analog speed pulse for proper operation in the list of vehicles listed in the pull-down menu below.
