The FRDN-AUX Auxiliary input adapter fits select 1998-08 Ford "CD Changer Ready" Radios. This adapter will allow you to connect any audio device with a line output to the Ford factory radio with a "CD" button on the face (this device does *NOT* work if the radio has a "SAT" button). Portable audio products are everywhere, reflecting demand from active people all over the world to take their music with them. MP3's, portable DVD's compact stereos etc, let you enjoy music at the beach, at a picnic, or in the back yard and in your car. With this adapter installed you can listen to any portable audio product such as [iPod, MP3, DVD, Satellite Radio, X-BOX, VHS player, and others. The FRDN-AUX connects to the 20-PIN CD Changer port on the back of the radio.
Compatibility & Notes: [These requirements must be met for this part to work]
1. Compatible with the select 1998-08 Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Nissan "CD Changer Ready " Radios listed in drop-down menu below. see #2.
2. The Radio in listed vehicles MUST have CD Changer Controls [Radios with CD Changer controls have preset numbers on COMP & SHUFFLE buttons ] and must also have this 20-PIN connector on the back of the radio. [if your vehicle is pre-wired for or has a Changer, purchase FRDW-AUX instead. ]
3. Factory CD Changer (if present) must be disconnected and will no longer function.
4. Easy plug-n-play installation into the factory 20-pin connector.
5. Not compatible with Navigation radios, Radios with "SAT" or "CD/AUX" button , Ford Satellite Radio. See the X3 system.
