The GMRVD (formerly Peripheral GMLRSE2) allows select 2007-Up GM LAN vehicle owners to replace the factory radio and retain the Rear Seat Entertainment (LCD). The GMRVD is a plug and play cable that routes the audio and video signals to the Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) LCD. The audio and video inputs located in the rear of the center console are also terminated as RCA jacks behind the radio at this connector. The GMRVD MUST BE USED in conjunction with PAC OS-4 interface to retail all safety and convenience systems. The GMRVD can be used to replace the GM head unit and retain the function of the Panasonic Overhead LCD and IR system. This interface can also be used to feed the audio/video signal from an aftermarket DVD player to the original overhead screen.
GMRVD APPLICATIONS:
1. When using an aftermarket headunit with source control (A/V inputs and A/V outputs)-
Connect the cables labeled "Audio/Video input from the Rear Panel" to an A/V input (i.e. AV1 in, AV2 in). The cables labeled "Audio Video output to Overhead LCD" will then connect to the A/V output of the new source unit. The single black wire is a shield, connect this to ground.
2. When using a standalone DVD player (only A/V outputs):- In this case, connect the A/V outputs to the cables labeled "Audio/Video output to Overhead LCD". The rear panel A/V inputs will not be used and the black shield wire should be connected to ground.
Compatibility and Notes: (Please read before purchasing this part)
1. The GMRVD must be used in conjunction with the OS-4 or RP5-GM31 to retain all safety and convenience systems.
2. The vehicle should be equipped with a Panasonic Overhead LCD and IR system, in which the DVD player was part of the AM/FM/CD receiver.
3. PAC 0S-4/RP5-GM31 is needed to power the IR headphone system.
