Connecting aftermarket products to Volvo factory systems has always been a challenge but due to customer demands, many aftermarket companies have developed sophisticated yet simple to install products for these vehicles.
More and more people all over the world to take their music with them and are looking for a convenient and professional way to incorporate their electronic audio devices into their automobile. The VOL/AUX DMX V.1 Audio Input adapter will allow connection of an audio device in the select 1991-00 Volvo vehicles listed in the pull-down menu below that are CD Changer Ready.
With the VOL/AUX DMX V.1 installed, your iPod, MP3, DVD, Satellite Radio, X-BOX, Playstation, Discman etc can now be selected as a source using the CD Changer port. This system surpasses an FM Modulator which is the current method of introducing audio into these systems.
Compatibility & Notes: [ Please read all requirements before purchasing this part ]
1. The VOL/AUX DMX V.1 is compatible with the select 1991-00 VOLVO model/years listed in the pull-down menu below.
2. The radio model # printed on the face of the radio must begin with "SC-" (i.e. SC-710, SC-901 etc) [not for Volvo HU-*** head units (i.e. HU-450) ]
3. The back of the radio MUST also have this 8-PIN mini-DIN connector labeled "CD". Factory CD Changer (if present) must be disconnected and will no longer function.
4. The VOL/AUX DMX V.1 connects to the back of the radio not to the cd changer connector in trunk/hatch etc.

All Listed vehicles (see pull-down menu below) MUST have a radio model beginning with "SC" and input on the back labeled "CD" otherwise they are *NOT* compatible..

What else do i need to connect my MP3 player to this adapter?
The VOL/AUX DMX V.1 has a pair of RCA jacks. If your audio device has 3.5mm jack you must purchase an adapter cable. We recommend the iS335 or the iS75.
How easy is it to install?
On a scale from 1-10 we would categorize this install as a 5.
1. Remove the radio from the dash
2. disconnect the CD Changer (if one is connected),
3. Connect the 8-pin mini connector from the interface to the radio,
4. Connect the yellow wire to a constant 12V source [ pin 4 or 12 on large radio harness provides 12V [please verify this with a test light or voltmeter]. We recommend using T-taps .
5. Connect your audio device to the RCA inputs (adapter cable may be required)
6. Route the audio cable from step 5 to where the audio device will reside (glove box, center armrest etc)
7. Re-install radio


	Female RCA Audio Inputs Connects to the output from your Audio device. An Adapter cable may be required.
	8-PIN MINI DIN Plug Plug into the 8-PIN MINI-DIN Connector on the back of the Volvo "SC" Radio.
