systems is a first in its "class" to provide full control of the iPod™ by utilizing the CD functions of the factory Radio to control iPod products. The Gateway 500 enables connection and control of media players (e.g. iPod), USB flash drives and other USB mass storage devices (e.g. Hard Drives) with
FAT file system by emulating an external CD changer and connects directly to the car’s entertainment system. An AUX IN connection
is also available for players otherwise not compatible with the device. This hard-wired solution delivers CD-quality audio and safe control of the iPod/iPhone and USB Storage Device from the vehicle’s entertainment system controls.
Going on a long journey? No problem, the Gateway 500 will also keep your iPod charged. Say good-bye to the Cassette Adapter, FM Transmitter, or Cigarette Lighter Charger, the Gateway 500 will provide the best and greatest iPod experience to the select late-model European vehicles listed in the pull-down menu above. a. Audi with MMI Basic, MMI High headunits. *NOT* compatible with MMI3, AMI)
b. BMW non- iDrive, iDrive-3, iDrive 4, Professional HU
c. Mercedes Audio 20/50, NTG1, NTG2, Command Text capable head units.*NOT* compatible with NTG 2.5/NGT 4 head units
d. Mini (R56) MOST with Boost head units and i-Drive Systems with CD Changer
e. Porsche (CDR-23/24, PCM 1/2 and PCI 2 DVD head units. *NOT* compatible with PCI 3
f. Saab 9³ Head unit with Front or Rear CD Changer Support
g. Volvo XC90 Model/Year 2002-2006, S40, V50 Model/Year 2004-2007 with High Performance, Premium System without AUX input, with CDC.
2. M.O.S.T ring of vehicle must be able to accept a CD Changer or a CD Changer is already installed.
3. If a CD Changer does not exist, the CD Changer interface might need to be enabled on the radio. In some circumstances the radio may require a service where re-configuration will result.
4. Not compatible with Mercedes Benz D2B systems.[ See our GW51D2B ]
