1.Advance mode: All 2006-09 Radios with "SAT" (Satellite Radio Emulation) button has the ability to display iPod/HD text on the radio screen and full control of the iPod using the radio buttons.
2. Basic Mode: All 2006-09 Radios (including Navigation Radios) without "SAT" button (CD Changer emulation) does not display text and are not compatible with the HDRT (HD Tuner). Charges the iPod, track up/down, Fast Forward, Rewind using the radio buttons plus retains full control using the iPod clickwheel.
The PXAMG works with the iPhone and all iPod versions that use the standard 30-pin dock connector [Mini, Nano, Touch, Classic, Video, Photo, iPhone ]
and provides dual iPod control from either the clickwheel or the factory radio buttons, allowing users to track forward and back for songs and browse by Artist, Playlist, Genre, and Album.
Radios with "SAT" Button only: Add the HDRT HD Radio tuner to receive HD radio stations that can not be received with a standard tuner. The HDRT receives analog and digital HD Radio stations and provides complete control of AM and FM tuning through the factory radio. Unlike Satellite radio, HD Radio has no monthly subscription fees and users enjoy crystal-clear AM and FM reception and expanded content with exciting new formats. The HDRT displays all HD Radio information on the radio screen, as well as the artist and song when broadcast. The total evolution of Peripheral’s next generation PXAMG is the only iPod interface in the world today that integrates completely in the select vehicles listed on this APPLICATION GUIDE.

3. All 2006-09 VW Navigation radios are compatible in "Basic Mode" only (No text display on radio screen, No HD Radio option).
