The one that's most recently affected those of us in the 12-volt industry is their decision to switch from 12v Firewire battery charging to 5v USB on the new iPhone (3G, 3Gs), iPod touch (2G) and iPod Nano (4G, 5G). To solve the battery charging dilemmas this change caused, PAC has created the PODCBLBM-5V. The PODCBLBM-5V allows the compatible Peripheral Electronics, PAC & iSimple iPod adapter to charge the iPhone 3G, 3Gs, iPod iTouch 2G and iPod Nano 4G, 5G. Plus, gives you the same quality of sound you’ve come to expect from such reputable company. The PODCBLBM-5V is also backward compatible with older iPods. Customers with a qualified Peripheral Electronics & PAC iPod adapter must purchase the PODCBLBM-5V dock cable to play/charge these new iPods.
Will this work with my iPod adapter? The PODCBLBM-5V fits any Peripheral, iSimple and PAC iPod adapter with this small 8-PIN DIN Connector only.
Will this work with the small 8-pin DIN on the back of my radio. IT WILL *NOT* !!!. This cable will *not* work in applications other than those mentioned herein.-- See warning message below.
The PODCBLBM-5V is compatible with the following Peripheral, iSimple & PAC iPod adapters with this 8-PIN Mini DIN (small) connector:
» PXAMG, ISGM74, PXDP2*/ISGM73*, PXDP3, PXDPGMT, PXAUX (charge and play, no controls)
» backward compatible with older iPods
» This cable is 10 ft long with a small 8-PIN DIN plug on one end and Apple iPod dock connector on the other. A 20 ft. version is available here.
Footnotes [ This is important and must be read and verified prior to ordering ]
* These Peripheral iPod adapters MUST HAVE this 8-PIN MINI-DIN connector, otherwise this cable will not fit.
1. Peripheral iPod2car (PXDP, PXDP2) has two possible connectors for the dock cable. Some have this small 8-pin Mini-DIN and others have the larger 8-PIN DIN. You must visually inspect the adapter in your vehicle to verify compatibility. Following this advice will save time and money.
2. NOT COMPATIBLE with the 8-pin Mini DIN connector on other iPod adapters or on the back of some radios. It is EXCLUSIVE to the iSimple, Peripheral & PAC iPod adapters listed herein. Use of this cable in other applications will damage the cable and your iPod. Please contact the radio or iPod Adapter manufacturer for an applicable cable.
