The FRDR-AUX Converts the CD Changer port of any Ford/Lincoln/Mercury vehicle radios listed in our "Order Options" drop-down, with the factory 12-pin connector on RCU (Rear control unit) mounted in the rear of the vehicle and CD Changer controls to an auxiliary input. With this adapter installed you can connect any audio device [ iPod™, DVD, Satellite Radio, Walkman, X-BOX, Playstation, etc] to the factory radio without using an FM Modulator. This plug-n-play solution surpasses FM modulation which is the current method of introducing audio in these systems.
Compatibility & Notes: (please read before purchasing this part )
1. For proper operation of the FRDR-AUX, the factory CD changer, if present, will need to be disconnected from the RCU.
2. The RCU is a metal box located behind the trunk liner near the antenna.
3. NOT compatible with vehicles equipped with the 6-Disc in-dash radio or factory navigation system.
