Do you have a portable audio device you been wanting to connect to the factory radio but didn't know how? The FRDW-AUX auxiliary input adapter will allow you to connect such devices to select Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Nissan vehicles that are pre-wired with the factory 12-pin CD Changer connector. The FRDW-AUX plugs directly into the CD Changer connector at the CD Changer location --- factory CD Changer if present must be disconnected and will no longer function.
With the FRDW-AUX installed you may connect an iPod, MP3 Player, Walkman, Discman, DVD Player or any other line output source to the radio without using an FM Modulator which is the current method of introducing audio into these systems. Our FRDN-AUX is available for Ford Vehicles that are not-prewired for the OEM (factory) CD Changer.
Compatibility & Notes: [These requirements must be met for this part to work]
1. Not compatible with 2003-Up vehicles equipped with the 6-Disc in-dash Radio or equipped with factory navigation system.
2. If the factory CD Changer is preset you must disconnect it to use the FRDW-AUX interface

† In addition to the vehicles listed above, the X3-FRDW is compatible with any 1995-03 Ford/Lincoln/Mercury vehicle equipped with an external factory CD Changer (not the in-dash 6 CD Changer).

* For Quest equipped with Video systems.

For proper operation of the FRDW-AUX, the factory CD Changer (if present) will need to be disconnected from the factory harness.
