Product Description: Connecting aftermarket products to Volvo factory systems has always been a challenge but because of customer demands, many aftermarket companies have developed sophisticated yet simple to install products for these vehicles. The VOL/AUX DMX V.1 by Blitzsafe is an interface device that converts the CD Changer port on the back of the radio into an audio input. Once connected the VOL/AUX DMX V.1 will allow audio playback from a single source [i.e. iPod, MP3, DVD, Satellite Radio ( Delphi Roady, Commander, Starbase etc.), X-BOX, Playstation, VHS player, and others] directly on select Volvo factory audio systems without using an FM Modulator which is the current method of introducing audio into these systems.
Compatibility & Notes: [These requirements must be met for this part to work]
1. The VOL/AUX DMX V.1 is compatible with the select VOLVO model/years listed in the pull-down menu above (a vehicle selection is required).
2. Compatible radio model must begin with "SC-" (i.e. SC-710, SC-901 etc) [not compatible with the newest Volvo HU-*** headunits (i.e. HU-450) ]
3. Compatible radio MUST also have this 8-PIN mini-DIN connector labeled "CD" on the back of the radio. Factory CD Changer (if present) must be disconnected and will no longer function.
4. Does not connect to the CD Changer connector in trunk. Connects to the 8-pin Mini DIN connector on the back of the radio.
What else do i need to connect my MP3 player to this adapter?
The VOL/AUX DMX V.1 has a pair of RCA jacks. You may use the iS335 or IS75 adapter cables based on the device you are connecting.
How easy is it to install?
On a scale from 1-10 we would categorize this install as a 5. You must first remove the radio, disconnect the CD Changer (if one is connected), connect the 8-pin mini connector from the interface to the radio, the yellow wire connects to a constant 12V source [ pin 4 or 12 on large harness [please verify this connection with a test light or voltmeter]. Using T-taps makes for an easy one step connection. The next step is to connect the your audio device to the interface via a 3.5-RCA adapter or RCA to RCA cable etc
1. The VOL/AUX DMX V.1 is not compatible with Volvo "HU---" Radios (i.e. HU-555, HU-650 etc). See the PA11-VOL.
2. The VOL/AUX DMX V.1 does not charge or control the audio device. Your audio device is controlled by the audio device itself.
3. * Not compatible with V70R.
