The PA11-VOL provides full function of the iPod™ utilizing the CD Changer functions of the factory radio and/or steering wheel controls and with a simple "flip-of-a-switch" lets you control the iPod in two modes, namely Direct Mode. In DIRECT MODE users can control track up/down as well as Fast Forward/Rewind from the radio or steering wheel controls (if so equipped), but hardcore iPod aficionados will be happy to find that the click wheel operation on the iPod is retained. In Playlist MODE users can browse the first 3 or 4 playlist on their iPod using the radios "CD DISC" buttons as well as the iPod clickwheel. The PA11-VOL will also charge the iPod's internal battery whenever it's connected and the car is running. If you don't have an iPod, you may use the PA11-VOL Auxiliary input feature to connect a single audio device (MP3 Player, DVD, Walkman, Satellite Radio etc.) to the factory system, if and when you buy an iPod simply connect it to the adapter and enjoy. 2. 2001-07 Radios with GPS Navigation systems must purchase a CAS-VOLNAV cable. (sold separately)
3. Volvo external 6-disc Changer (if applicable) must be disconnected and will no longer function. (6-CD Changer built-into Radio remains fully functional)
4. Display of artist and song title information, track search by artist, song title, album or genre are NOT supported, you will see playlist and track #‘s only.
