Only consider this part if the Alpine Model number begins with "CDA-", "TDA-", "DVA-", "IVA-", "3DA".
The ALP/Ai-3.5M Ai-Net VersatileLink™ adapter Cable (by PIE) converts the CD Changer input port on select Alpine Ai-Net head units to a 3.5mm input. With this adapter installed you can connect any audio device with a 3.5mm (headphone) jack to the Alpine radio for a clean audio connection and the ability to "tune" the add-on source with Bass Engine™ features. This innovation offers audio performance that is more enjoyable than substandard FM-modulated solutions that transmit audio into the FM tuner instead of the preferred accessory port connection. Connecting entertainment devices properly is common in today’s fast-paced consumer electronics driven lifestyle.
Compatibility & Notes: [These requirements must be met for this part to work]
1. The ALP/Ai-3.5M has been tested and approved for use on Alpine Versatile-Link Ready headunits listed Here!!!, or consult the radio manual for details.
2. Just because the radio has a "CD changer port" does not make it compatible-- the Alpine radio MUST be Versatile-LINK Ready otherwise it will not recognize this part.
3. When the ALP/Ai-3.5m is used, a changer connection is NOT possible,---- [see PIE's ALP/Ai-AUX interface adapter].
4. NOT compatible with Alpine M-Bus radios identified by having the letter "M" as the 3rd letter in the model number prefix. i.e CDM-, TDM. These radios require the ALP/M-3.5M instead.
5. The ALP/Ai-3.5M is 6 ft. long and features a gold plated 90 degree 3.5mm (headphone jack) on one end and Alpine Ai-NET connector on the other
6. The Alpine radio will not control the external audio device connected to the ALP/AI-3.5m

Frequently asked question
1. My Alpine radio has a cd changer port on the back, will this part work?
A-- Yes, but only if the radio is V-LINK ready and will also work on NON-VERSATILE LINK radios with a pink/black wire in the power/speaker harness.
2. I already have an Alpine CD changer connected, will i have to sacrifice the cd changer to use this cable?
A- YES, but PIE's ALP-AUX interface will allow you to keep the cd changer and provide an aux input.
3. I understand Alpine has two bus systems, ai-net and m-bus, how do i identify an Ai-Net radio?
A- Alpine Bus systems can be identified by looking at the 3rd letter in the model number-- if it's an "A" then Ai-NET, if it's an "M" then M-BUS examples: CDA-9811 (Ai-net), CDM-7874 (m-bus)
