Product Description: 
Only consider this part if the Alpine Model number begins with "CDM-" or "TDM-"
Use the ALP/M-3.5M to connect any audio device [ MP3, DVD, Satellite radio, X-BOX, Walkman and etc.] that has a headphone jack output directly to Alpine VersatileLink™ M-BUS radios ( not Ai-Net BUS). Once connected, you select your added source from the head unit and adjust the sound using the volume control/bass/treble on the radio.
Compatibility & Notes: [These requirements must be met for this part to work]
1. The ALP/M-3.5M adapter is 6ft. long with Alpine VersatileLink™ 8-pin DIN plug on one end and a 90° gold plated 3.5mm male plug on the other.
2. The ALP/M-3.5M (KCM-123b) is compatible with Alpine M-BUS VersatileLink™ (V-Link™) Radios ONLY.
3. The ALP/M-3.5M will work if the Alpine manual includes a "SETTING THE AUX FUNCTION" section. --- [ CLICK HERE FOR A LIST OF COMPATIBLE HEAD UNITS].
4. When the ALP/M-3.5M (KCM-123b) is used, an Alpine CD Changer connection will not be possible.
5. NOT Compatible with Alpine Ai-Net Products.
6. Alpine M-BUS head units model numbers begin with CDM-, TDM- etc. [i.e CDM-7874, CDM-9803 etc]
7. OEM (factory) Alpine radios found in select Honda, Volvo, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Ford, Porsche, Mazda, Chrysler etc are not V-Link™ ready and therefore NOT compatible.

The 8-pin CD Changer port on the back of the Radio does not guarantee that this cable will work. This cable will work ONLY IF THE ALPINE RADIO IS "VERSATILE LINK READY" otherwise the radio will not recognize this cable.
