The latest and improved version of the FRD04-AUX (identical to PAC AAi-FRD04) Auxiliary Audio adapter is now available. This device is one of the many PIE products designed to work in Ford CAN-BUS systems. CAN (Controller Area Network) is set to become the new standard for data interchange between electronic components in cars. Most, if not all 2006-Up Ford vehicles use this communication system and PIE is the first to integrate an aftermarket audio input device to this system. Portable audio products are everywhere, reflecting demand from active people all over the world to take their music with them. MP3's, portable DVDs compact stereos etc, let you enjoy music at the beach, at a picnic, in the back yard and in the car. How does it work ? The FRD04-AUX connects to the 16-pin RSE (Rear Seat Entertainment/Satellite Radio) port on select 2004-Up Ford/Lincoln/Mercury radios and uses that port to input audio from your device [i.e. MP3, DVD, Satellite Radio, X-BOX, VHS player, iPods)] thus eliminating the use of an FM Modulator which is the current method of introducing audio in these systems. Have you seen an "AUX INPUT" jack on some of the newer Ford vehicles? Just add the PDM35 auxiliary input to complement the FRD04-AUX. Have a blast the next time you drive to work, home or wherever your travels may take you. The FRD04-AUX is sure to delight many Ford Owners.
COMPATIBILITY REQUIREMENTS AND NOTES: [This section will inform you of the specific requirements for your factory radio to be compatible with the FRD04-AUX. Not all Factory radios are compatible with the FRD04-AUX. The FRD04-AUX will only work on models equipped with the specifications listed below. Please read all notes before purchasing this part]
1. The FRD04-AUX is compatible with the specified Model/Year vehicles listed in the pull-down menu [when ordering a vehicle selection must be made].
2. Compatible radios must have this "AUX" button on the faceplate and this 16-PIN connector on the back.
3. The FRD04-AUX inputs are RCA-type and we recommend the PDM35 to connect portable devices with RCA or 3.5mm (1/8") jacks.
4. The FRD04-AUX Will NOT WORK in conjunction with factory RSE or SAT. Tuner. You will have to disconnect them. See PIE X3 adapter to retain factory RSE or SAT. Radio Tuner.
5. The FRD04-AUX will NOT CONTROL the audio device nor display text on the radio screen- and DOES NOT DISABLE the CD or CD Changer built-into the Ford Radio ------See the PXAMG-F or FRD04-POD/S. for controls and display on radio.
6. Includes a potentiometer for audio level adjustment. (works like a line driver)
7. NOT compatible with factory Navigation (except 06 Freestyle).

We recommend adding the IS75 or RCA-iPd to your order. Any of these 2 devices will play and charge your iPod when the radio is turned "ON".
