Chrysler has began using a Controller Area Network (CAN) Bus for intercommunication between most every system in at least 5 vehicles, namely: 2005-Up 300, Dodge Magnum, Charger ( All LX line vehicles ), 2005-07 Dodge Dakota, 2006-07 Dodge Ram, and the 2005-07 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Integrating aftermarket products into these vehicles has posed a challenge, however PAC & Peripheral (among others) have answered the bell. Introducing the AAi-CHY (version 1.4.14c) (formerly Peripheral CHYX) dual audio input adapter for Chrysler's CAN-BUS radios with VES (Vehicle Entertainment System) and/or Satellite radio compatible headunits. The AAi-CHY lets you connect not one, but two audio devices to the Chrysler radio. With this adapter installed you can connect any two audio devices [DVD Player, iPod, Walkman, Satellite Radios etc] for a clean audio connection. No more Cassette Adapters, FM Transmitters, or FM modulators.
• 2 Audio inputs selectable from the radio buttons (no toggle switch required)
• Plugs directly into the 10-pin port behind the factory radio.
• Provides a switched +12V accessory wire to power devices that require 12V
• Left and right signal adjustments for each input (match the audio level of the radio or cd player).
• Plug and play.
REQUIREMENTS & NOTES: [This section will inform you of the specific requirements for your factory radio to be compatible with the AAi-CHY. These notes will inform you of any issues or circumstances that can affect the compatibility of our product with your radio, audio system, or accessories. Not all Factory radios are compatible with the AAi-CHY. The AAi-CHY will only work on models equipped with the specifications listed below. Please read and understand
these notes before purchasing this part]
1. Compatible with Chrysler Navigation Radio (REC), 6 Disc/MP3 (RAQ), 6 Disc/Cassette (RAK) and Single Disc (REF)† model radios in select 2004-08 Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler radios. (model numbers are located on the face of the radio)
2. The AAi-CHY emulates the VES (Video Entertainment System) by default
3. If the Chrysler vehicle has factory Sirius Radio and VES, either one must be disconnected for the AAi-CHY to work-- (except REF radios--- see note 4.)
4. Vehicles equipped with Chrysler (REF) Single disc radio model must disconnect the factory Sirius Radio (if so equipped). Follow this process to retain factory Sirius Radio when equipped with "REF" radio.
5. The factory VES or Satellite Radio are completely disabled if the AAi-CHY emulates it. DVD's and/or headphones can not be used.

† The "REF" radio has no option for VES, therefore the AAi-CHY can only emulate the factory SAT option.
Installation option for iPod users: Purchase our CHYP or the AAi-CHY and one of our Universal iPod Adapters to connect your iPod using the line out on the dock connector-- this options provides better sound Quality and will also charge the iPod when the car is "on".. Keep in mind that control and display remain with the iPod as you will NOT be able to control it from the radio.
