Return Policy

Warranty and Return Information

Limited One-Year Warranty

All products are genuine and authentic. We buy through the original manufacturers, authorized dealers, distributors and other established lines of distribution within the car stereo industry and pass the savings on to you. Discount Car Stereo offers genuine brand name merchandise at substantial discounts to the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP). Because of our discounted pricing, we are not "Authorized Dealers" AS DEFINED BY THE CERTAIN MANUFACTURERS. (Alpine, Clarion, Pioneer, Panasonic, JVC). Please read our policy prior to ordering as our policy may be different than that of other online retailers. All such products are eligible for one year warranty from date of purchase.

Defective returns are eligible for warranty service OR replacement only: Within 10 days we will ship replacement part and include a pre-paid label for customer to return the defective item at our expense. After 10 days customer is responsible for shipping items to us and we pay the return shipping. If the original purchase can't be replaced (discontinued etc), we reserve the right to  provide a substitute part of higher or equal value. Any claims for missing parts must be made within 7 days of delivery.
No Refunds issues after 30 days of purchase: After 30 days, parts are returnable for store credit which is applied to purchase another part of higher or equal value.

The Warranty card included with your product must be used to receive factory warranty directly from the manufacturer. Products that do not include warranty card (Auxiliary interfaces, CD Changer interfaces etc) receive warranty service through Discount Car Stereo.com.

In an ongoing effort to avoid costly returns, we (unlike other internet vendors) include a vehicle or radio drop-down menu and list the requirements for the part to work. Ordering parts without checking your unique application may render the product incompatible. To avoid such situations we ask you order only if the requirements are met-- Due to the number of vehicles and radios on the road today, it is impossible for us to know their individual features/connectors and in many cased you will be asked to verify the plugs/ connectors, or verify certain buttons. Please email us as much information possible about your car, radio or application so that we can make the best recommendation based on your individual situation. The results of our research is done in an expedited manner and free of charge.

Reasons for returns include:
Customer error
Wrong description on Website
Manufacturer defect or /DOA
Damaged during shipping
Missing Parts (claims must be made within 7 days of delivery)

Reasons to issue an RMA (Return merchandise authorization number)
Wrong item shipped
Send replacement if within warranty
Replace/Repair and ship back
Give me a Store Credit towards future purchase
Refund Purchase Price (restocking fee applies)
Send missing part (s)

If you think an item is defective, please contact our Tech Support or the manufacturer Tech support first. Most of the time these issues are resolved after a few troubleshooting steps .

To begin the Return process please sign in and select the "Order History" tab.

Please do not use the return form to check status of an order you have not yet received. Instead send email to our customer service staff. If you have not received an order, or delivery confirmation email, please check product availability on the products page. In stock items usually ship within 24-hours, items that are temporarily out of stock will ship  as soon as it is replenished.

Creating Return Requests (registered customers only)

To create a product return request:

  1. Log in to the Customer area.
  2. In the Your cart box, click on the Order history link.

    After you click on Order history, you'll be redirected to the Orders management section of the Customer area.

  3. Use the Search for orders box to find the order for which you want to create a return request.
  4. Click on either the order number or the order status to open the Order details page.
  5. Click on the Create return link.

    Note: If there is no the Create return link, it means that either none of the products in the order are returnable, i.e. their return time is set to 0 (zero), or the product return time has expired. In this situation, you cannot create a return request.
    After you click on Create return, you will see the Create return request box, which is used to created return request.

  6. Select the checkbox for the products you want to return, the amount, the reason and the actions that store staff should do. If necessary, leave a comment.
  7. Click the Create button to create a request and send it to the store staff.

After you click Create, the system will display a confirmation message saying that the return request has been created successfully. Our staff will verify the information and approve or deny the request. You can check return status from within your account. Once approved you will be able to print the address label which must the attached to and displayed on the outside of the return package.

If you are not a registered customers (anonymous), please send an email request for a return number. Include your order ID number, part number and reason for the request.


Return Shipping
For your protection, we recommend that you insure your return and use a traceable carrier that can provide you with delivery confirmation. Discount Car Stereo shall not be responsible for items returned that are lost or damaged in transit. Postage and handling charges, both to and from our warehouse will be paid by the customer, and are non-refundable. Items returned to us for warranty are mailed back to customer at our expense using the carrier or our choosing.


1. All products sold by Discount Car Stereo are tested and optimized for vehicles in the United States. You may, at your own risk, purchase and install these part in vehicles outside the US or do not meet US Standards, however Discount Car Stereo will not be liable for damage or compatibility issues that may arise. Products purchased for vehicles outside the US are not returnable.
2. It is the customer's responsibility to retain an installation technician with adequate knowledge and experience of the vehicle into which the equipment will be installed. Discount Car Stereo is not liable for any charges that you may incur for installation or removal of these parts.
