Warranty and Return policy Information

In an ongoing effort to avoid costly returns, we (unlike many other vendors) place great efforts and resources into providing as much information and requirements for our products to work in the specified applications. Ordering parts without checking your unique application may render product incompatible (even if vehicle model/year is listed), and to avoid such situations we ask you order only if all requirements are met. If a product list compatibility with (e.g. 1995-05 GM); pre-1995 an post 2005 are excluded and will not work. Due to the number of vehicles, radios, audio options; you may be asked to verify compatibility. If for any reason you are unsure of the application, please email us prior to ordering. Don't forget to include vehicle details (model/year/trim, radio) product part number of interest etc. The results of our research is provided in an expedited manner and free of charge.

All Branded products are genuine and authentic. We buy from the original manufacturers and other established lines of distribution within the car stereo industry and pass the savings on to you. Discount Car Stereo offers genuine merchandise at substantial discounts to the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP). Because of our discounted pricing, we are not "Authorized Dealers" AS DEFINED BY CERTAIN MANUFACTURERS. (e.g. Alpine, Clarion, Pioneer, Panasonic, JVC). Please read our policy prior to ordering as our policy may differ from that of other e-tailers. The Warranty card included with your product must be used to receive factory warranty directly from the manufacturer. Products that do not include warranty card (Our own hand made products, Aux. adapters, CD Changer interfaces etc.) receive warranty service through Discount Car

Defective returns:

All defective returns are eligible for warranty/replacement service
Within the first 10 days, we will replace any defective or damaged part at no cost to you and include a pre-paid return label (US Customers only) with replacement. (Pre-paid labels are issued only in the case of a defective or damage part within 10 days of receipt) After 10 days and up to 365 days (1 year), customer must cover return shipping cost, however we cover the cost for shipping replacement back to you. If the original purchase can't be replaced (discontinued etc.); we reserve the right to  provide a substitute part of higher or equal value. Any claims for missing parts must be made within 7 days of delivery.
Defective returns, missing parts, or items sent in error are shipped First Class or Priority Mail only or Express Mail but only if the original purchase was paid/shipped using Express mail service. Customer can arrange faster (Express Mail) shipping by paying the difference between Priority Mail (2-day) and Express mail (1-2-days)
Customized parts (e.g. cables, shark fin antennas, power cable etc.) if defective; are returnable for exchange only (same part). No refunds for these customized items.

30-Day Refund for non-defective parts:

Within the first 30 days we will approve return request for non-defective parts (See reasons for return below). Pre-paid labels are not issued for this type of return and original shipping charges are excluded.
After 30 days and up to 365 days (1 year), returns are approved for warranty repair or replacement only (No refunds issued or approved post 30 days)
RMA (return authorizations) are not issued by staff, instead customer simply sign in, Click "returns" on order tab, fill out the form and the system will automate the process..
If you purchased as a guess but created an account at a later date, any prior purchases will not be available under the newly created account. Click here and request to have your newly created account linked to order history.

To begin the return process, sign in to your account. Forgot password? simply click the "Forgot Password" on sign in page and the system will email link to reset password. Customer service staff does not have access to customers passwords. Use the "Forgot Password" sign in option to reset password.
Guess customers: Registering an account after order completion does not connect to that order. Please click here and a staff member will link your email to order. The system will email a temporary password or sign in link to email address on file. Please check spam or junk mail folders to see if it ended up there. You can also search email inbox for email from
Return numbers are automated and not issued by staff; instead customers are required to sign in, fill out return (RMA) request form so the system can process the return. (Check for updates by clicking the "message" tab) from within your account or email inbox (spam folder etc.)

Reasons for returns include:

Ordered by mistake
Does not match webpage description
Does not work or defective
Arrived damaged
Wrong item sent (not what I ordered)
Missing parts (claims must be made within 7 days of delivery)

RMA (Return merchandise authorization) are given for the following :

Replace/Repair item (within warranty)
85% Refund (Excludes shipping) -- Item opened/installed and is within 30 days (15% restocking fee)
90% Refund (Excludes shipping ) -- item unopened/uninstalled and is within 30 days (10% restocking fee)
95% Store Credit (Excludes shipping) A coupon code is issued for use toward future purchase and do not expire. (5% restocking fee)
Send missing part (within 7 days of delivery)


1. No refunds past 30 days. After 30 days products my be returned for store credit only.
2. Shipping charges are not refundable unless the return is due to our mistake. If you refuse delivery or the carrier returns a package because you provided an invalid address; return shipping cost will be deducted from refund.
3. Please don't use return form to check order status, cancellations etc. Check your Order Status online at anytime.
4. Keep in mind we have two different product categories, namely those requiring customization/or assembly and those "off-the-shelf". Customized parts (e.g. wires, antennas, cables etc.) if defective are eligible for replacement of the same part. No refunds for customized parts.
5. Off-the-shelf parts that are In stock usually ship within 48 hours but In stock parts (requiring customization or assembly) ship after 3-4 days using method selected/paid for at checkout.
6. Please DO not return parts without an authorization. The PO BOX listed as our mailing address is not for returns (packages). Fill out the RMA form and upon approval you are given the return address.

Creating return requests

To create a product return request:
1. Log in to the Customer area.
2. From the My account area, click Orders Tab
3. Click the "Returns" link corresponding to order you wish to return.
4. Tick box next to product you want to return (select quantity if applicable)

Click Submit Return to send it off to the store staff who will verify the information and approve or deny the request.
Once approved (usually within 24 hours), check the "messages" section of your account or your email for notification

How long after you receive my return should i expect to see refund/credit?

Refunds are issued between 6-8 days after we receive, inspect and document the return; however, your credit card issuing bank will require additional time to post this information to your account. The entire process may take up to 10 days to complete.

Return Shipping

For your protection, we recommend insuring the return and using a traceable carrier that can provide you with delivery confirmation. Discount Car Stereo shall not be responsible for items returned that are lost or damaged in transit. Postage and handling charges, both to and from our facilities are paid by customer, and are non-refundable. Warranty/replacement (after 10 and up to 365 days of purchase), are mailed back to customer at our expense using the carrier or our choosing.

1. All products sold by Discount Car Stereo are tested and optimized for vehicles in the United States. You may, at your own risk, purchase and install these part in vehicles outside the US or do not meet US Standards, however Discount Car Stereo will not be liable for damage or compatibility issues that may arise. Products purchased for vehicles outside the US are not returnable unless defective for replacement.
2. It is the customer's responsibility to retain an installation technician with adequate knowledge and experience of the vehicle into which the equipment will be installed. Discount Car Stereo is not liable for any charges that you may incur for installation or removal of these parts.
