Use this adapter cable to connect a Clarion 2nd Gen. marine remote (8-pins) to a 1st Gen. (older) 6-pin radio.
Your 1st Gen. Clarion marine remote is damaged, no longer function etc. and a direct replacement may no longer be available (discontinued). Installing a newer (2nd Gen.) remote poses two problems; namely the hole size (shape) and the connecting cable. Resolving hole size is easy but the connecting cable can only be resolved by rewiring. Why? Because Clarion 1st Gen. products (remote controls, radios, remote control extension cables etc.) use 6-pin connectors/plugs and Clarion 2nd marine products (as of 2009); use 8-pin connectors/plugs which means an adapter cable (6 to 8-pin) is required. The CCUMRA2 adapter cable makes it possible to connect a Clarion 2nd Gen. 8-pin remote to older 6-pin (1st Gen.) radios with some restrictions (see footnotes) or APPLICATION GUIDE
» Use to connect older (1st Gen.) radios to 2nd Gen. wired remote controls (e.g. MW1, MW2, MW3 etc.)
» Cheapest and most viable solution available when replacing 1st Gen. remote control with a 2nd Gen. remote control and retaining old (1st Gen.) radio.
» Older (1st Gen.) Clarion wired marine remotes do not support IR remote signal pass-through (e.g. MF-1 etc.)
