Apple restricted charging on its newest devices to +5V only, and because of that most iPod adapters on the market are no longer able to provide a charge. The iP-ALPA iPod adapter not only charges these new devices but older iPods as well and also provides high quality sound. Once installed, connect the iPod and enjoy your favorite tunes through a clean audio connection and a fully charged iPod as you drive. Browse your playlist and menus using the iPod click wheel or Touch screen and the Alpine radio volume control to set the listening level. Internet connected iPods & iPhones may also use the iP-ALPA to stream music from popular sites like Pandora, Spotify and others. The iP-ALPA provides an easy, inexpensive and flexible method of converting the Ai-NET port to accept iPods products on select Alpine Versatile Link Aftermarket Radios.

1. The iP-ALPA is compatible with Alpine Ai-Net VersatileLink™(V-Link™) Radios including PXA-H800
What is Versalite-Link : its a menu option on the Radio that switches the 8-pin port from Changer to "AUX". Without this feature the radio will not recognize this adapter.
2. When the iP-ALPA is used, a CD Changer connection will not be possible.
3. The iP-ALPA is NOT for Alpine M-Bus Radios. M-BUS Radios require the iP-ALPM]
4. "AUX" must set to "ON" , otherwise the radio will not recognize this adapter. Consult radio manual.
5. The iP-ALPA is 4.5 ft. long with a dock connector on one end, Alpine Ai-NET connector on the other.--A fused wire (+12V ignition) and black (ground wire) must be connected for the *charging feature to work.
6. iPod text will not display on the Alpine radio. Display and controls remain with the iPod.
7. Play/Charges all 30-pin iPods & iPhones. Apple's new Lightning connector requires an adapter

1. Not all Alpine Radios are compatible. The iP-ALPA will work ONLY IF THE ALPINE RADIO IS "VERSATILE LINK READY". Some non-versatile link radios (i.e. CDA-D853) with a pink/black wire are also compatible. A toggle switch must be used. The unit will display INTERRUPT and audio playback from iPod will play through. When ungrounded it goes back to normal radio or CD input.
2. Not compatible with Alpine Full Speed-type connector.

Defective returns:
Our return policy differs from than of other online merchants and we encourage all customer to read our Return policy page it in its entirety prior to ordering.
Defective returns are eligible for warranty repair or replacement service: Within the first 10 days, Discount Car Stereo will replace any defective or damaged part and provide a pre-paid return label (US Customers only). (Pre-paid labels are not issued for other return reasons).
After 10 days of receipt, customer covers return shipping cost, however we cover shipping cost to supplier/manufacturer, and to ship replacement back to you. If original purchase can't be replaced (discontinued etc), we reserve the right to provide a substitute part of higher or equal value. Any claims for missing parts must be made within 7 days of delivery.

Paying for a faster shipping method (e.g. Express mail, Priority mail) for parts requiring assembly, does not speed up assembly process; however, it does speed up delivery time.
