Play and charge iOS devices on Alpine Ai-NET Versatile-Link AUX ready radios.
If you own an older Alpine Ai-NET AUX ready radio and wish to connect, play and charge an IOS device, then the IL-ALPA is for you! The IL-ALPA is capable of upgrading select Alpine Versatile-Link (AUX ready) radios to support iOS devices via the CD changer port. Once installed, connect lightning plug to IOS device and enjoy your favorite tunes through a clean audio connection and charging as you drive. All controls and display functions will still need to be operated from the iOS device but volume and tone control setting on Alpine radio are used to set the listening level. Internet connected iPhones, iPads & iPods can also stream music from popular sites like Pandora, Spotify and others. With the IL-ALPA is installed, Alpine CD changer and/or other accessories, must be disconnected and will no longer function.

1. Compatible with all Alpine Versatile-Link ready head units. Click here for partial listing or consult radio manual for details.
2. An Ai-NET "CD changer port" is not the only requirement. Radio must be Versatile-LINK (AUX ready), otherwise it will not recognize this adapter.
3. When the IL-ALPA is used, a CD changer connection is NOT possible.
4. NOT for Alpine M-Bus radios (e.g. CDM-, TDM etc.) M-BUS radios require M-BUS adapter such as A2D-ALPM
5. Alpine radio will *NOT* control or display track, song name etc. Use audio device built-in controls to access files.
6. Not for Jaguar, Volvo, Honda, Chrysler or any factory radio
7. Does NOT support hands-free calls.
Installation
1. If present, disconnect cd changer or other Alpine accessory from radio Ai-net port
2. Connect Ai-Net plug from adapter to radio
3. Connect (splice, solder etc.) red wire to an accessory (switched) supply wire in vehicle
4. Run Lightning plug to desired location on dashboard, glove box, console etc. within 3 ft. of radio. Use caution not to cut, pinch or crimp cable during this step.
5. Connect IOS device to Lightning plug and enjoy.
An Ai-NET CD changer port on radio does NOT guarantee compatibility. Radio must be Versatile-LINK ready or listed on the application guide.

1. My Alpine radio has a CD changer port on the back, will this part work?
A-- Yes, but only if radio is V-LINK ready OR NON-VERSATILE LINK with a pink/black wire on harness.
2. I already have an Alpine CD changer connected, will it still work?
A- NO. You must disconnected CD changer or purchase PIE's ALP-AUX to retain CD changer.
3. How can i distinguish between Alpine Ai-NET and M-BUS radios?
A- Most Alpine Bus systems can be identified by 3rd letter in model number: "A" (Ai-NET) and "M" (M-BUS). Examples: CDA-9811 (Ai-net), CDM-7874 (m-bus) Also M-BUS radio have an 8-pin DIN connector.
