Quick-n-easy wired remote control installation to recent Clarion, Kicker or JL Audio digital receivers using the 6-pin extension cable already fitted.

If you plan to, or have already installed the newest Clarion, Kicker or JL Audio digital marine radio and want to add a matching 5-pin threaded wired remote control e.g. CMR-30, KRC55, MMR-20 etc.) to the dive platform, transom etc.; or if replacing a legacy radio/remote with the newest 5-pin digital radio/remote; requires installing a new 5-pin remote control extension cable (e.g. CMC-RC-25, MMC-25, KRCEXT25 etc.). Routing/installing a remote control extension cable in most boats could be daunting, expensive and (in most instances); virtually impossible! but if your boat has a legacy (old) 6-pin remote extension cable already fitted; installing a new 5-pin threaded remote (on drive platform etc.) and matching digital receiver (in cockpit etc.) is a breeze thanks to the CMRR-C5 converter kit. This two-part kit connects a 5-pin digital receiver (e.g. CMM-30, KMC5 etc.) to the front end of the 6-pin remote control extension cable already fitted, and matching 5-pin remote control (e.g. CMR-30, MMR-20 etc.) to the other end thus eliminating the need to install yet another extension cable (e.g. CMC-RC-25, MMC-25 etc.). » Includes matching 5-pin non-NMEA 2000® (male/female) connector/plug (fits 5-pin remote control /digital media receiver)

Who can benefit from the CMRR-C5 conversion cable kit?
1. Boat owners installing Clarion 3rd Gen. remote controls to matching receivers in any boat with a 1stGen. 6-pin remote control extension cable (e.g. M101RXC-RET, MW-RXC-RET etc.) already fitted.
2. Boat owners installing JL Audio 5-pin threaded remote controls to matching receivers in any boat with a 1st Gen. 6-pin remote control extension cable (e.g. M101RXC-RET, MW-RXC-RET etc.) already fitted.
3. Boat owners installing Kicker 5-pin threaded remote controls to matching receivers in any boat with a 1st Gen. 6-pin remote control extension cable (e.g. M101RXC-RET, MW-RXC-RET etc.) already fitted.
Additional information/history of interest:
- (2009-Up) Clarion marine radios (e.g. M608 etc.) and wired remotes (e.g. MW1 etc.); use 8-pin DIN extension cable (e.g. MWRXCRET etc.). If boat has a 1st Gen. 6-pin DIN extension cable; the CCUMRA1 and/or CUMRA2 adapter cables are required to update to Clarion 2nd Gen. marine products. Warning: These adapter cables (e.g. CCUMRA1 & CCUMRA2) do not apply to Clarion 3rd Gen. marine products.
- To connect 3rd Gen. (2020-Up) Clarion and newer Kicker & JL Audio digital marine source units (radios) and wired remotes, requires routing/installing a 5-pin non-NMEA 2000® extension cables (e.g. CMC-RC-25, MMC-6 etc.) but if boat has a 6-pin DIN extension cable (already fitted), purchase our CMRR-C5 cable kit. instead.
INSTALLATION (Only applicable if boat has a 6-pin remote control extension cable already fitted)
1. Locate 6-pin remote extension cable behind radio cavity.
2. Locate the 5-pin screw-on type remote cable on Clarion, Kicker or JL Audio digital receiver
3. Connect CMRR-C5 5-Pin male plug to the 5-pin radio remote cable connector.
4. Connect CMRR-C5 6-pin connector to the 6-pin plug on the remote extension cable.
5. Go to the remote control location and locate the other end of the 6-pin remote extension cable
6. Connect CMRR-C5 6-pin female to the 6-pin plug on the remote extension cable
7. Connect CMRR-C5 5-pin connector to the 5-pin remote control (e.g. CMR-10) plug.

Additional time (usually 2-4 business days) is required after which time orders are shipped using shipping method selected at checkout. Selecting (paying) for a faster delivery method (e.g. Express mail, Priority mail etc.) for products requiring "assembly" does NOT speed up assembly (build) time; however, it does speed up delivery time after shipment.
